אזהרה של הבנק העולמי : World Bank Warning
משבר הקורונה העולמי עלול להביא 150 מיליון בני אדם לעוני קיצוני עד סוף שנת 2021 .
לעשרות מיליוני בני אדם ברחבי העולם יהיו פחות מ – 2 דולר מחייה ביום .
האזורים שבעיקר יפגעו מהעוני , תושבי סהרה ומדרום סהרה – הודו , ניגריה ואינדונזיה
שינויי האקלים עלולים להוביל למאה מיליון עניים נוספים עד שנת 2030 .
האזור הצפוי להזדעזע מהשפעותיה ההרסניות ביותר של ההתחממות הגלובלית הוא מדבר סהרה באפריקה .
הבנק העולמי ציין :
אין ברשותו מענה פשוט לאתגרים הקשיים עמם מתמודד העולם , מכיוון שאינו קיים .
“העולם יכול להתעלות מעל הקשיים או להיכנע”.
המגיפה אף מאיימת להחמיר את אי – השוויון הגלובלי ולהקשות על כלכלות לצמוח באופן שישרת את כלל פלחי האוכלוסייה ,
לטענת נשיא הבנק העולמי דיוויד מאלפאס.
